Things we do at Hope

Hope Lutheran Church members and visitors enjoy a wide variety of planned and impromptu activities and programs throughout the year.

Join us in celebrating shared service to our Lord while enjoying each other's company!

See our Activities Slideshow for details on upcoming occurrences of the items shown below

Frequently Occurring Activities

Sunday School and Bible Class

We welcome all children to Sunday School and all adults to Bible Class -- between services 9:15AM Sunday mornings!

Choir

The choir leads the church in song during our second service and offers additional music during special services throughout the church year.

The choir holds a brief rehearsal before second service and a longer rehearsal after that service.

Men's Fellowship

"Fellows of Hope" meet for breakfast at a local restaurant.  This ordinarily occurs on the second Saturday of the month at 8:00.

Adult Bible Study

Weekly studies are available to both men and women of the church to study the Word of God and enjoy good fellowship.

Youth F3 (Faith, Food, Fun)

Middle school and high school youth meet monthly to enjoy games, fellowship, dinner and a devotion. The youth also participate in periodic service events.

Theology on Tap

Interested members of the congregation meet monthly at a local establishment for a relaxed discussion of a Bible-related topic. This ordinarily occurs on the third Thursday of the month.

Prayer Requests

For your special prayer needs, you are invited to use this online Prayer Request Form or to contact us via e-mail or telephone.

Annual or Irregularly Scheduled Activities

Yard Sale

Normally held in May, this is a chance to bring your spring cleaning to a close and donate your unused or lightly used items for resale to our neighbors.  All proceeds from sales are used to support our ministry and missions.

Confirmation

The Confirmation is a two year program of catechists/learning the Lutheran faith, normally provided to 7th and 8th graders.  After confirmation, participants can chose to join the church, become an adult member, and receive the Lord's supper.

Easter Egg Hunt

Each Easter, we find joy not only in the resurrection of our Savior but also in the squeals of delight as our younger members and our neighbors' young children join forces to search for those all-important chocolate-stuffed orbs on our church grounds.  What a fun way to keep relationships fresh and growing strong with the neighbors!

Missions

Hope Lutheran Church offers opportunities to participate in short term mission efforts through the LCMS' registered service organization, Mission Opportunities Short Term .

National Youth Gathering

Held every 3 years, the LCMS  provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to learn more about Jesus Christ, the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. Youth spend time together in God’s word, worship, service, and fellowship with others from across the Synod.

Rally Sunday

Rally Sunday marks the beginning of our Christian Education classes at Hope. Events include a picnic and games after church services.

Community Outreach

Periodically, Hope Lutheran Church identifies opportunities to reach out and serve the community.  These provide enjoyable and meaningful ways to spread encouragement, comfort, and a good witness.

Vacation Bible School

We hold Vacation Bible School each summer featuring a different theme each year. VBS is ordinarily held weekdays in the morning for one week.  It is a much-anticipated summer break for our youth and children from local neighborhoods attend as well. Toddlers through fifth graders are welcome.
