Hope Lutheran Church began its mission in Manassas, Virginia, in 1978 with the vision of five families that gathered together that gathered together to establish a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in their community.
For the first five years, services were held in the gymnasium provided by a local church. In 1985, Hope Lutheran Church dedicated its present home on a tract of land at the corner of Sudley Manor and Garner Drive.
Those first five families were experiencing some of the same things we experience today. Our lives are consumed by commitments to work and family priorities, as well as schedules and appointments. The lifestyle in Northern Virginia often requires long hours spent working and commuting. It is refreshing to know that there is a place where you have the opportunity to come and restore your spirit with others that have the need to realign their priorities with the help of God. Hope Lutheran Church offers that opportunity.
